In an interview today on Midlands Today, the UK MD of Good Year Erich Fric confirmed the decision had been made to close the Wolverhampton site after 90 years with the loss of 330 staff due to the plant becoming commercially uneconomic and the strong pound.

Weightmans is close to completing a merger with Ford & Warren, after agreeing headline terms. The deal will see Weightmans take its headcount to over 1,400 and the merged firm will also have 187 partners. The merged firm will continue to be known as Weightmans LLP.
