Tribunal to rule on commission inclusion in holiday pay

Businesses could be facing higher payroll costs from this week as an employment tribunal meets to decide whether workers should be entitled to commission payments on top of their salary when they are on holiday. The tribunal will decide on an ECJ ruling in favour of gas engineer Joe Lock who said his holiday pay should include the commission he usually earns when working.

The multinational firm Dentons has announced that it is to merge with the Dacheng Law Offices of China, creating the world's biggest firm by number of lawyers. The new firm will be branded Dacheng Dentons and will have more than 6,500 lawyers in more than 50 countries.

Riverview Law has signed a Knowledge Transfer Partnership agreement with the computer scientists at the University of Liverpool, as it seeks to pioneer the use of artificial intelligence in the legal sector.
