JMW Solicitors has calculated that 7% of its new cases since the turn of the year have featured accusations of infidelity after office Christmas parties. Sam Hall, a partner in family law at the firm, said there had been a noticeable increase in such cases in the past few weeks in comparison with the same period in previous years.

A city lawyer claims she was sacked after objecting to a boss circulating a nude portrait of his wife to staff. Margaret Rowe told a tribunal she lost her £184,000 a year job at Fidelity Worldwide Investment because she refused to act like a woman who “knows her place.”
