Marriage certificates to include mothers' names

 Downing Street has confirmed that marriage certificates will be updated to include the names of the couple’s mothers after more than 70,000 people signed a petition calling for the forms to be modernised, stating that marriage should not be seen as a “business transaction” between two fathers. David Cameron said it was “high time the system was updated”.
