Legal ombudsman notes rise in conveyancing complaints
The Legal Ombudsman says it has seen an increase in the number of complaints about poor work from lawyers around house purchases, which now comprise around 20% of its total cases; making conveyancing the most complained-about area of law. Chief legal ombudsman Adam Sampson said lawyers who fail to pay a client’s stamp duty to HMRC have become a particular problem.
