Grandparents to be given parental rights

David Cameron has signalled that grandparents who look after their grandchildren could be given the right to paid leave and greater financial support, along the lines of rights set to be extended to adoptive parents. The PM said more than 200,000 grandparents are getting a “raw deal” after stepping in to look after children whose parents are unable to provide adequate care themselves.
