Divorce disclosure rules outdated
Paul Smethurst of CBW writes in the Times on how a review of financial disclosure would improve settlement discussions in divorce cases. Current rules permit insight into just one year of a person’s finances during divorce proceedings, meaning people are using these regulations to hide their money before filing for divorce a year later. Mr Smethurst examines what reformed disclosure rules might look like and how they would reduce court time and best serve the interests of the individuals and families involved.
