Andy Coulson could be forced to pay back almost £750,000 to the taxpayer for the cost of the phone hacking trial. The Telegraph states that Coulson will face a showdown with News UK, his former employer, over who will pick up the legal bill. It has also been revealed that Mr Coulson and Clive Goodman will face a retrial on two charges of conspiracy to corrupt public officials after the jury failed to reach verdicts on those counts. Separately, the Independent reports that private investigator Glenn Mulcaire told a mitigation hearing that that Greg Miskiw, a former NOTW news editor, along with a journalist from a competitor newspaper, had jointly tasked the investigator to hack the murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler’s phone.
