Michael Green, a 22-year-old holding two law degrees and a background in computer gaming, is looking to transform how Britain deals with class-action lawsuits. While in the US it is relatively simple for large groups of consumers to sue companies, due to the case automatically including anyone who might be affected by the claim, their UK counterparts struggle, as all those affected by the claim must be individually located. Mr Green’s solution is CaseHub, a start-up which uses the internet to find cases where large groups of people may have been affected, bringing them together via social media. The Economist profiles the company, looking at how its first case, currently ongoing, looks to unite those hit by excessive parking fees.
