Blogging barrister fined

Posted By: James

A barrister has been fined £2,000 after using a blog to describe witnesses “manipulative and duplicitous”. Henry Hendron was disciplined for making the comments before the alleged victims were due to give evidence at the trial of his friend, Conservative MP Nigel Evans. Mr Hendron, who works at Strand Chambers in London, reported himself to the Bar Council and has now been found guilty of professional misconduct by the Bar Standards Board, which ruled he risked harming the public's “trust and confidence”.
