An airline passenger has won his case against Thomson Airways at the Court of Appeal. James Dawson’s complaint related to a delayed flight from December 2006, and Thomson, contesting an earlier county court decision to award Mr Dawson £1,488.73, had argued that the claim was not valid as it fell outside a two-year time limit. Legal experts say the Court of Appeal’s decision could now lead to more than 11m passenger claims and could cost airlines up to £4bn. Mr Dawson’s solicitor, Bott & Co, said it had “hundreds of litigated cases which have been stayed pending the outcome of the Dawson case, and thousands more ready to issue proceedings
