Research conducted by the Daily Telegraph reveals that a third of female students in Britain have endured a sexual assault or unwanted advances at university. Gender-violence campaign groups warned that academic authorities were creating an "environment of impunity" on campus by refusing to step in to protect women from assault. The study comes as new legal guidance warned that universities could be breaking the law by refusing to investigate allegations of sexual assault.
